8 Day lodge walking adventure – Close up and Personal

For the purist who is fit, who wants to walk and track big game on foot. This is all about being on the ground, learning about the little things on the way and with a bit of luck - having huge rewards. You will feel hot, tired and totally out of your comfort zone but you will experience the best guiding in the world and an unforgettable safari experience. Staying at comfortable lodges means you can rest those weary legs at the end of the day, have great food and fireside stories to get you going for tomorrow.
If you just want some close up shots from the comfort of your vehicle this is not for you.

Overnight at the small and personal Ilala Lodge in Victoria Falls, spend the afternoon and evening at leisure – exploring the famous falls and town named after them.

It's an early pick up the following day for your road transfer to Camp Hwange (about 3.5 hrs) for the next 3 nights. Here it's all about the quality of guiding and walking, it's not what you see but rather how you see it! Forget sitting in the back of a comfortable 4 x 4 as you are driven around the bush - now you will have to work hard for your rewards. The guys at camp will do their best to find Rhino spoor to follow but this is not always possible. Whatever you happen across, be it lion, elephant or just plains game, it's sure to be exciting, exhilarating and more than a little bit tiring. This is the harsh, true, uncensored Africa at its best.

On day 4 it's a two hour transfer back to Hwange town to connect with your one hour charter flight to Mana Pools airstrip - where you will be met by Goliath safaris and driven the short distance to camp on the banks of the Zambezi. The camp is simple but comfortable and once again it's all about the guiding and experience. Stretch Ferreira the owner operator is a legend, all man and perhaps half beast. The next three days will be a whirlwind of sensory overload, exhilaration, fear, weariness and more than anything a true appreciation of the African bush. There is no greater wildlife experience then walking right up to a dozing elephant with only your Professional guide between you and slumbering beast.

On your last morning you will be driven back to Man Pools airstrip to catch your charter flight back Harare or Victoria Falls
