THE AMAZONS IN VENEZUELA AND BRAZIL JUNGLES (14 Days / 13 Nights)

Day 1. Caracas
Arrival to Maiquetia International Airport. English bilingual assistance by an Alborada Guide who give you the briefing of the program. Transfer to the hotel in Caracas Littoral and overnight.


Day 2. Caracas – Canaima (BLD)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Canaima via Puerto Ordaz.
Transfer to Ucaima Port to take a curiara through the Carrao River. At the Mayupa rapids it might be necessary to walk for about 20 min. Short time after beginning your journey you will be dazzled by the majestic Auyantepuy, home of the Angel Falls, standing still as medieval fortress of gigantic dimensions. Its impressive walls shelter the river from both sides. Once inside the Canyon, the Angel Falls appear in all its majesty when the curiara approaches Isla Ratoncito, walk to Laime lookout point. Having arrived, get until the base of the Angel Falls, and witness its mist falling all over the place. Enjoy a nice bath on the pool formed by the waterfall on its way down. Return to the camp for lunch, and relax going swimming in the Churun River. Overnight in hammocks with mosquito nets at the camp in front of this magic scenery. (Possibility also to stay in a camp with beds or to return to Canaima Lodge to sleep.)


Day 3. Canaima (BLD)
The next day enjoy for the last time the falls and return to Canaima lodge to take the Excursion to Sapo Falls. Dinner and overnight in a jungle lodge in comfortable bungalows with private toilets, where you can admire a fantastic view of the falls in Canaima Lake and the ancient mountains called “tepuis” by the Pemón Indian Community and the falls. Dinner and Overnight.

 

Day 4. Canaima – Puerto Ordaz (B)
Enjoy a bath in Canaima. Free time to visit the handcrafts shop or visit the indian community. Transfer to the airstrip to take the flight to Puerto Ordaz. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in front of Caroni River and Llovizna Falls.


Day 5. Puerto Ordaz – Grand Savannah (BLD)
Early in the morning begins our trip to the Grand Savannah, region that borders with Brazil. The trip continues passing through the towns of Upata, Guasipati, the Callao and Tumeremo. All these villages conserve the structure of mining towns (gold and other minerals) with own cultural expressions of the time of the colony. Visit El Callao and cross the legendary El Dorado. In Tumeremo we will stop to have lunch in a Creole typical restaurant. We will continue trip passing by the town of 88 Km and in "La Piedra de la Virgen" (the Stone of the Virgin) we will stop to observe this natural monument. From this point we will ascend until the 1,400 mts to arrive at the Great Savannah. Dinner and overnight.


Day 6. Great Savannah (BLD)
After breakfast we will continue the trip towards the indian population of Iboribo. Visit by Curiara (Indian boat with motor on board) Aponwao Falls (higher falls of Great Savannah of 106 mts of height). Soon, we will undertake our return walk passing through Pozo Escondido (the Hidden Well) and Pozo de los Enamorados (the Well of Lovers) where you can take a refreshing bath and enjoy a picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the camp.


Day 7. Great Savannah – Santa Elena de Uairén. (BLD)
Breakfast. Departure to Santa Elena de Uairen, occasionally stop to visit places of interest like Kavvi Falls , Kama Meru Falls , viewpoint El Oso, where you will have the opportunity to take photos to the tepuis, Arapan ravine and Soroape ravine At this point we continue to Yuruani falls El Jaspe ravine (named after the famous precious stone).Dinner and overnight at the Camp in Santa Elena in the frontier with Brazil .


Day 8. Santa Elena de Uairén /Venezuela – Boa Vista / Brazil (B)
Breakfast. Transfer to the Brazilian border village “La Línea”. Continuation to Boa Vista. Panoramic visit of the Brazilian city. Overnight in Boa Vista.


Day 9. Boa Vista – Manaus (B)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Manaos. Arrival and transfer to the Hotel. Visiting this city you will observe the splendour of ancient times,when the rubber was at its peak in the world Overnight.


Day 10. Manaus – Cruise in the Amazons (BLD)
Breakfast. Transfer to the pier. Beginning of the cruise, with and excursions in the forest on foot or motorized boats. Visit small villages, river islands with sandy beaches. Have a close encounter with the flora and fauna of the place. . Overnight at the Cruise.


Days 11, 12. Cruise in the Amazons (BLD)
Navigate along rivers in the Amazons, opportunity to watch the nocturnal wildlife and the endemic flora with explanations by a expert guide, combined with visits to villages and their inhabitants, piranha fishing, swimming, canoe trips. Overnight at the Cruise.

 

Day 13. Cruise in the Amazons – Manaus (BL)
If you’re an early bird, go bird watching at sunrise through the forest and lakes surrounding you by canoe. Afterwards, have a well-deserved breakfast to then watch the Meeting of the Waters: the Rio Negro and the Solimoes. Return to the pier and transfer to Manaus. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.


Day 14. Manaus – Caracas (B)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Caracas or another South American cit
