Ras Al Khaimah

The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is located on the Arabic Gulf and on the coastal line of the emirate that extends about 64 kilometers while the inland areas exceed 128 to the east. Ras Al khaimah lies between the two latitudes 25-26 North and the two longitudes 55-60 East. It is the farther part of the east that is bordered by Sultanate of Oman from the south and the eastern north. Ras Al Khaimah occupies the forth place in terms of area and population of the UAE. Its area takes about 2478 Kilometers which is equal to 3.16% of the total area of the UAE. It shares the borders with the emirates of Um Al Quawain, Fujairah and Al Sharjah, in addition to, the borders with Sultanate of Oman. It lies to the farther north of the UAE and extended along the Arabian Gulf shore adjusent to the strategic strait of Hermiz. Thus, it is the first of the emirates that overlooks on the entrance of the Arabian Gulf which enables it to have a distinguished natural and geographical location. Relatively, its maritime coast is long which allows it to be a center for maritime and commercial business across the continents sine a long time. Furthermore, it has good mountain ranges, large desert areas and green agricultural areas.

Ras Al Khaimah is famous for many important historical antiquities whose history related with many of the events that the region had witnessed and played an important role in formulating its development and future.

There are a lot of old heritage forts and castles in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah such as the Fort of Dhayah and the palace of Al Zabaa, the antiquities of Jelfar city and Gelfar valley in addition to, the guard towers of the coastal line. Additionally, there are old houses and villages built along the ancient heritage line which reflects the loftiness of earth and originality of people.

Ain Khat region is one of the most famous tourist areas with its sulfate water that is used in treating a lot of diseases such as rheumatism, arthritis, ulcers and the skin diseases, where its temperature arrives at 40C throughout the year.

The strategic location of Ras al Khaimah, its moderate climate that lasts for a long period of the year, the beaches along the coastline, the mountains and hills near the emirate, as well as, "Ain Khat" tourist resort and a lot of first-class hotels enable the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to be an eligible area to attract a large tourist movement.
