Famous Wine Routes of Spain

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN PAMPLONA. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Pamplona.

Day 2: PAMPLONA, TUDELA, LOGROÑO - 90 km. After breakfast, you will get to know the capital of Navarre, Pamplona, world famous for its "San Fermin", the bull run through the streets of the old town. Visit of the Gothic Quarter and the Cathedral with the monastery. We continue to Tudela, another beautiful town in Navarre. Here you will visit the historic centre, founded by the Muslims. The Cathedral, Santa Magdalena and the Plaza de los Fueros" are among the highlights of the city. Our destination today is Logroño, capital of the famous Rioja wine region. Accommodation and dinner at your hotel. In the evening we recommend to visit Laurel Street in the old quarter, full of typical "tapas" bars and sample some tasty tapas of the region.

Day 3: AROMA OF THE RIOJA VINEYARDS. Logroño, Laguardia, Santo Domingo de la Calzada, Burgos 130 km. We start the tour through the world famous red wine region of La Rioja. After a short sightseeing tour of the old town of Logroño with the Cathedral of Santa María La Redonda, Santa María del Palacio and San Bartolomé church we go to Laguardia, a medieval town with many wine cellars and a great wine tradition. Day 4: TASTY GRAPES OF CASTILE Burgos, Aranda de Duero, Peñafiel, Valladolid 180 km Today our wine route through Castile begins. Day 6: ZAMORA, SAN ESTEBAN DE GORMAZ, BURGO DE OSMA, SORIA, ZARAGOZA 480 km. Zamora is also often called the city of Romanesque architecture. After a tour of the most important locations like the cathedral, the old castle with its gardens and walls and the square "Plaza Mayor" we continue to San Esteban de Gormaz in the eastern part of the province. Because of its Romanesque churches of San Miguel and Nuestra Señora del Rivero it became a historic landmark. Burgo de Osma is another stop on our journey through Castile. After a short visit proceed to Soria, a small city that was heavily influenced by Moorish architecture, especially in the case of the monastery of San Juan de Duero. Day 7: ZARAGOZA, PENEDÈS DISTRICT, CALELLA 360 km. Today we visit the Ppenedès district in Catalonia on the Costa Dorada, an important wine region of Catalonia with a long winemaking tradition. During the guided tour of the cellar Bodegas Torres we will get to know the production of excellent wines and sparkling wines of the area. Of course here we also will have a wine tasting. We continue to Calella, dinner and overnight.

Day 8: CALELLA. After breakfast, departure from Spain and return home.
