From Peñiscola we drive to the south and pass small villages which are hidden in the interior of the "Maestrazgo" in the valleys, and are not well known. It is interesting to see that the Spaniards living in this area do not only live from tourism, as for example on the Costa Brava, Benidorm or Palma de Majorca. It is always a surprise to see that although we are this close to the coast, at only 20 km we are in the middle of the mountains. The tourguide will explain everything about country and people, until we get to Cabanes to visit the "turron" factory. Turron is a kind of nougat, made from almonds, honey, sugar and egg white. Other possible ingredients depend on the kind of turron and can be for example chocolate, candied fruit or peanuts. In addition to these traditional varieties there are countless others kinds. In the factury of San Luis turron is produced after recipes from the Middle Ages and made with our own famous Spanish almonds. The factory has been run for four generations by the same family. After the visit to the factory, there is also a video demonstration of everything and of course a turron tasting.

Day 6: FULL DAY EXCURSION PEÑISCOLA, MORELLA - 160 km. The gem in the province of Castellon. We think that, after Peñiscola, it is the most visited little town in our area. Morella is located at 1,100 m altitude in the Maestrazgo-mountains. It is a city in which during the centuries several human cultures have settled, starting with the Romans to the Muslims to the Christians. All these people have left a piece of culture that is reflected in all of Morella. Starting with the crafts, hand-knitted woolen sweaters, handmade wicker baskets, candy, honey varieties (to taste), sausage and cheese products. Morella is known for its home cooking, and therefore it is recommended to have lunch at any of the wonderful small restaurants in town. We have also free time for strolling and shopping.

Day 7: FULL DAY EXCURSION PEÑISCOLA, TORTOSA, EBRO DELTA 1 150 km. In the morning we leave towards Vinaroz through the hinterland of Ulldecona to Tortosa. We first visit the Archbishop's Cathedral. It is enormous and contains within itself 5 other small churches and the catacombs, which you can also visit. Then we continue into the old town, where we have free time for lunch. From there wo go to the Ebro Delta National Park. In the rest of Europe, this area is not very well known. A boat trip should be included, because thus we accompany the Ebro river on its last 8 km to where it flows into the Mediterranean. On this trip culture with nature is very well combined.
