Almond Blossom on Majorca

Spring starts in Majorca white or pink, because from January to late February / March there is a natural spectacle of the special class on the island - the almond blossom. An enormous variety of almond trees enchant the island with their flowers. An ideal time to travel to the island of Majorca.

Day 1: ARRIVAL ON THE COSTA BRAVA / MARESME. Arrival on the Costa Brava/Maresme. Dinner and overnight

Day 2: BOATTRIP TO MAJORCA. Costa Brava/Maresme, Barcelona, Palma de Majorca. In the morning we take a city tour in Barcelona. Then in the port of Barcelona we board the ferry to Majorca. The island is reached by fast ferry in about four hours. (If you should choose the day ferry the duration of the crossing is about 8 hours - no city tour in Barcelona). We disembark and drive to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: PALMA DE MAJORCA. After breakfast a half-day tour of the city: the Cathedral, Bellver Castle, Almudaina Palace and the Spanish Village. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 4: CAVES OF DRACH AND PEARL FACTORY IN MANACOR. After breakfast we begin our day trip to the east coast of the island. First, we come to Manacor where we can visit the exhibition and facilities of the pearl factory MAJORICA. We continue to Porto Cristo, where there is one of the main attractions of the island, the Caves of Drach, a masterpiece of nature. The "Lago Martel, a subterranean lake in the heart of the dragon caves, is the largest lake of its kind in the world. After that we drive back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: LA GRANJA. Today we take a half-day trip to an old Majorcan manor house, located in the village of Esporales. La Granja is of Arab origin and in possession of a Majorcan nobility. There you can have a look at arts and crafts and sample Majorcan products.

Day 6: DAY AT LEISURE. This day you can spend as you wish.

Day 7: ISLAND TOUR. Today you can admire the beautiful scenery of the islands. After breakfast departure to Inca, the capital of leather manufacture. We will continue in the northern mountains of the island, near the Puig Major to the valley of Lluch and its monastery where the Black Virgin, the patron saint of Majorca, is venerated. We continue the wonderful Bay of La Calobra. Visit of the Torrent de Pareis. Weather permitting, in the afternoon we make a boat ride to the port of Soller, in order to admire Majorcas Costa Brava from the sea. In Soller, a town in the Valle de los Naranjos (Valley of the orange trees), we have the opportunity to take an open tram from the port to to the city centre. The return trip from Soller to Palma is with the famous railway, whose course through the mountains and the tunnel is really great. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 8: PALMA DE MAJORCA, BARCELONA, RETURN HOME. After breakfast, drive to Palma and embarkation. After arriving in Barcelona begins the journey home.
