Andalusia seen differently


Day 1: ARRIVAL ON THE COSTA BRAVA. After arriving on the Costa Brava dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: COSTA BRAVA, AREA OF ALICANTE - 585 km. Right after breakfast begins our journey toward Andalusia with overnight stays and dinners in the Alicante area.

Day 3: ARRIVAL IN RONDA - 530 km. All-day trip to Ronda. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: THE WHITE VILLAGES OF THE GRAZALEMA NATURE RESERVE - 120 km. Ronda, Grazalema, Benamahoma, El Bosque, Prado del Rey, Arcos de la Frontera, Jerez de la Frontera. The White Villages constitute one of the most beautiful routes which gives us the opportunity to admire the typical architecture of Andalusian villages. The best starting point is Ronda, a charismatic city of Celtic origin. Its impressive center consists of 70 houses which inlcude the palace of Salvatierra, the Casa del Gigante, the Casa de Mondragón and the Casa del Rey Moro. Of course, we visit the famous oldest bullring in Spain. From the new bridge you have a beautiful view over the river Tagus. After that we continue to discover the other white villages of the highlands: Grazalema, probably the most representative and most beautiful village in the Sierra, Benamahoma, El Bosque and Prado del Rey. Through the beautiful town of Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most important cities of Moorish Andalusia, we arrive at our destination Jerez de la Frontera. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: HOW THE ANDALUSIAN HORSES DANCE... Jerez de la Frontera. The highlight of today's program is the visit of the world famous Royal Andalusian Riding School in Jerez. We visit the fantastic equestrian ballet "How the Andalusian Horses Dance" based on a choreography of the reprise of classical dressage and the Doma Vaquera (Country Dressage) with original Spanish music and clothes from the 17th century. You can experience how the 28 horses move to the rhythm of the music. Delicious wine tasting in the afternoon in the Sherry and Brandy wine cellar "Tio Pepe". Dinner and overnight at the hotel from Jerez.

Day 6: NATURE WITHIN REACH - 60 km. Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Doñana National park, Puerto de Santa María. In the morning boat ride into the Doñana National Park. From Sanlúcar de Barrameda the journey goes up the river Guadalquivir. The beautiful landscape of this nature reserve was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travel time is approximately 3,5 hours and with a professional tour guide. Several times you will have the opportunity to stop at dock, to be able to have a close view pf the manyfold and colorful ways of life of the park. Tour of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, known for its crawfish farming and typical Manzanilla (strong white wine). Transfer to Puerto de Santa María. The rest of the afternoon is free. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: SEA AND LAND FROM FIRST HAND - 160 km. Puerto Santa María, Cádiz, Medina Sidonia, Cortes de la Frontera. After breakfast we travel to Cadiz, an ancient city, founded by the Phoenicians. During the walk through the parks of Alameda and Genoves you have a beautiful view over the Bay of Cadiz. Our next distination is Medina Sidonia, an ancient city full of history, whose name is a mixture of Arabic and Phoenician. Of course we will also visit her most famous monuments, el Arco de la Pastora on the Moorish wall and the church of Santa María Coronado in Gothic style. In the afternoon we drive into the mountains Sierra de Alcornocales, to visit again the area around the White Villages. Our distination is a charming village, founded by the Phoenicians, Cortes de la Frontera. Visit of its beautiful square, the town hall and the church of Nuestra Señora del Rocío. Dinner and overnight in Cortes de la Frontera.

Day 8: TWO FACES OF SOUTHERN SPAIN - 150 km. Cortes de la Frontera, Algatocín, Marbella and, Mijas, Torremolinos. After breakfast, we cross Algatocín, with a short stop in the square and at the church, and travel further along the coast to one of the oldest resorts of Andalusia, Marbella. Here we take a nice walk through the bright streets and tranquil squares of its Old Town. For sure it is interesting to visit the port of Puerto Banus, where the luxury yachts from around the world are a sign of its international jetset life. Before arriving at our destination Torremolinos, we will visit Mijas, with its chapel, Virgen de la Pena and the small bullring. Arrival in Torremolinos, dinner and accommodation at your hotel.

Day 9: TORREMOLINOS, AREA OF ALICANTE - 485 km Today our return trip to the Costa Brava begins. Accommodation and dinner in the Alicante area.

Day 10: ALICANTE, COSTA BRAVA - 585 km. Arrival on the Costa Brava. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 11: COSTA BRAVA, RETURN HOME. After breakfast departure from Spain and return home.
