Boquete is an attractive region located in the highlands of the Chiriquí province. It is in a charming valley with such tourist sites as Boquete, Bajo Boquete, Los Naranjos, Caldera, and Palmira.

The slopes of the mountains surrounding this beautiful valley are covered with coffee and flower plantations, two of the most important products of the region.

The city of Boquete has an area of 488.4 km2 and a population of approximately 22,435 inhabitants. Much of the district is based in the western part of the Central Range, and the northern half of its territory lies at an altitude over 800 meters above sea level. High elevation sites include Cerro Horqueta (2231 m), Cerro Azul, Cerro Pata de Macho, Cerro Respingo, and Cerro La Estrella.

Due to its altitude, the district of Boquete has a mild climate. During the day the temperature can reach 28° C and drop down to 15° C at night. These temperatures provide a suitable environment for growing flowers and coffee.

The district of Boquete is found in the northern part of the province of Chiriquí. It borders the districts of Changuinola and Chiriquí Grande in the province of Bocas del Toro to the north, the districts of Dolega and David to the south, the district of Gualaca to the east, and the districts of Boquerón, Dolega, and Bugaba to the west.
