Tourism

Malawi has a lot to offer to the local traveler, business man and even experienced traveler. Malawi is extremely diverse and very friendly making it a great travel destination.

Malawi has many places where the visitor can enjoy some tranquil rest, relaxation and lovely dining.
Malawi has a lot of potential and the Malawi government is doing its best to grow and expand it further. Lake Malawi, or Lake Nyasa as it is known in many countries is one of the main attractions of the country; it’s very popular and such a great destination with lots of beautiful scenery and also numerous numbers of cichlids.  It is reportedly the habitat of more species of fish than any other freshwater body, including more than 1000 species of cichlids, and was officially declared a reserve by the Government of Mozambique on June 10, 2011.

Many Malawians go to the lake for holidays, celebrations or recreation purposes. As one of Africa’s rift valley lakes, Lake Malawi covers an area of 11,500 square miles. Besides the lake, Malawi has more to offer during the holidays. If one is holidaying in Malawi they can choose to do any of the following and enjoy being in the warm heart: Kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, boat riding, water skiing, mountain bike trail, camping, football, hiking at the Mulanje Mountain (Mulanje Mountain is a huge granite massif in southern Malawi. Its highest peak Sapitwa reaches just over 3000m), game viewing and cruises on the Shire River are also organized
