This adventure starts and ends at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya

Day 1

You will be met on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by a member of the &Beyond team and assisted with your transfer to The Emakoko

Kenya’s capital is one of the largest and most influential cities in Africa, an important commercial and financial regional hub. It is the port of entry for most travellers to Kenya and offers bustling markets, interesting history and numerous attractions. Named after a Maasai watering hole, “enkare nyarobi”, which means “place of cool waters”, Nairobi is known for its leafy streets and parks. The skyline, with towering skyscrapers and imposing architecture also draws the attention of every arrival to the city. Not-to-be-missed is a visit to the city’s beautiful Uhuru Park.

Spend one night at the The Emakoko in a cottage with ensuite bathroom. Your stay includes Meals, soft drinks, beer, house wine, non-luxury spirits, game drives, trips to Giraffe Centre and Daphne Sheldricks, all aiport transfers (Wilson Airport & Jomo Kenyatta International Airport), internet access.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled Safarilink flight to Kichwa Airstrip. On arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by a representative from &Beyond Bateleur Camp and transferred to the lodge.

Blessed with an astounding year-round concentration of animals and the climax of the Great Migration, Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve provides an unsurpassed wildlife experience. Covering an area of 1 510 km2, the Masai Mara is a land of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife, and endless plains. The Reserve is a photographer’s and naturalist’s paradise with abundant elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion and cheetah alongside the migratory wildebeest and zebra. Leopards are frequently encountered, endangered black rhino find retreat in dense thickets, and large rafts of hippo and enormous crocodiles are found in the Mara River. The Mara is also home to over 450 bird species. Situated in the &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Private Concession, which neighbours the Masai Mara, &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara Tented Camp offers world-class accommodation in the African bush. Meaning “head of the elephant” in Kiswahili, Kichwa Tembo is located on private land leased from Maasai landlords in the remote western Mara – almost exclusively explored by fly-in guests. In addition to the excellent concentration of animals, Kichwa Tembo lies directly in the path of Africa’s spectacular Great Migration.

Indulge in three nights at &Beyond Bateleur Camp in a spacious tent with ensuite bathroom with shower only and a private deck. Your stay includes accommodation, three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, refreshments on game drives, scheduled safari activities, return Kichwa Tembo airstrip transfers, emergency medical evacuation insurance and laundry.

Day 5

After breakfast you will be transferred to Kichwa Airstrip for your scheduled Mombasa Air flight to Ukunda Airstrip. On arrival at Ukunda you will be met by a representative from Tijara Beach and transferred to your coastal retreat.

Protected by an offshore barrier coral reef, Kenya’s south coast is famous for beautiful and safe beaches, as well as spectacular diving, fishing and surfing. Shimoni is Kenya’s southern angling headquarters, with boats heading out into the Pemba Channel in search of the denizens of the deep. Offshore are another two magnificent marine reserves, Kisite Marine National Park and Mpunguti Marine National Reserve, both offering superb diving? A bit further south is Wasini Island and the Wasini Marine National Park, with arguably the best snorkelling in Africa. Inland is the little-known Shimba Hills National Reserve, a 192 km² (75 square mile), heavily forested plateau that is home to, among others, elephant, sable antelope, leopard, buffalo and hyena.

Indulge for four nights at Tijara Beach in a cottage with ensuite bathroom. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, beer, house wine & non-luxury spirits, local airstrip transfers for three or more nights stay, snorkelling, reef, beach and cave walks, Wi-fi internet access, croquet, bird watching, tree planting, digital safe.

Day 9

Today you will depart from your coastal retreat back to Ukunda (Diani) Airport for your scheduled Safarilink flight to Wilson Airport. On arrival at Wilson Airport, a member of the &Beyond team will meet you and transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.

Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Masai Mara National Reserve on a once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon flight. Pass over endless plains, sail over the dramatic Mara River, watch wildlife traverse verdant swaps and cruise past flourishing forests - this adventure is truly worthwhile!

This incredible guided adventure will allow you to explore some of the best attractions of Nairobi in one day. Kick-start the day at the Java House at The Junction Mall and indulge in the best cappuccinos, lattes and roasted coffees in Nairobi. Afterwards, indulge in some retail therapy at one of the magical Kitengela glass shops that are situated at General Mathenge in Westlands, at The Village Market (Muthaiga) and at The Junction, Dagoretti Corner, Ngong Road. The Banana Box in the Sarit Centre also offers exceptional Maasai sandals. Stop for a truly scrumptious seafood lunch at the Tamarind restaurant before visiting The Karen Blixen Museum, situated just 20 minutes from the city centre, or the Giraffe Centre where you can feed these gentle giants and explore a nearby forest trail. After an adventure-filled day unwind at one of Nairobi’s vibrant eateries. We recommend the Carnivore or the Haandi, followed by refreshing nightcaps at Tamambo (do try a Dawa, Kenya’s iconic cocktail of vodka, fresh lime and honey).
