Jolly Sicily Food & Wine 8 Days - 7 Nights

Day 1. Palermo.
Upon arrival at Palermo Airport you will be transferred by shuttle services to the Hilton Hotel Excelsior, located in one of the city center's main streets. Enjoy a welcome cocktail. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2. Palermo-Cefalu-Castelbuono-Catania.
Wine Tasting and lunch in a farmhouse with a sampling of Sicilian specialties. After breakfast, depart to Cefalu, home to a breathtaking Norman Cathedral with dazzling mosaics. Travel through the Madonie Natural Park and stop at the Relais Santa Anastasia, an ancient abbey which has been renovated and restored to its previous splendor. Enjoy a light lunch with wine tasting included. Proceed to Castelbuono, a typical medieval village located on the slopes of the Madonie Mountains. Stop at Fiasconaro pastry shop to sample the delicious cakes of Castelbuono (panettone and famous artisan liquor pastries). Proceed to Catania. Dinner and overnight at the Excelsior Grand Hotel.

Day 3. Catania-Mt. Etna-Taormina-Catania.
Cooking Class in a farm estate located on the slopes of Mt. Etna. After breakfast, weather conditions permitting, excursion to Mt. Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Travel up to 2000mts, where you will enjoy a fantastic panorama of the Ionic Sea. Attend a cooking class at "Azienda Trinita" agricultural and farm estate, in Mascalucia: located on the slopes of Mt. Etna. The program includes a visit of Villa Trinita, and together with an experienced cook you will discover the secrets of Sicilian cooking and learn how to prepare authentic Sicilian dishes. After the cooking lesson, enjoy a special lunch. Continue on to Taormina called "the pearl of the Ionic Sea", founded in 400 BC and beautifully located overloo¬ king the sea. Time at leisure or discover the fascinating Roman-Greek theatre. Return to Catania. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4. Catania-Siracusa-Ragusa.
Visit to a famous Chocolate factory in Modica. After breakfast, depart to Siracusa for a visit of the archaeological area including the famous Latomie of the Paradise, the GreekTheatre, the Roman Amphitheatre and the Dyonisios "Ear". Visit the island of Ortigia, the small baroque old city center of Siracusa. Lunch in a local restaurant. Afternoon departure to Modica: one of the most picturesque cities of Sicily. Stop at the Bonajuto Chocolate Factory, where you will learn the different phases of the production of chocolate, following the techniques of the Aztecs. Enjoy a chocolate tasting accompanied by almond milk and hot chocolate. Proceed to Ragusa, known for its Baroque architecture and enjoy a visit of the historical center. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Poggio del Sole Resort.

Day 5. Ragusa-Caltagirone-Agrigento. Cheese making demonstration and wine tasting in Caltagirone.
After breakfast, depart to Caltagirone, famous for the production of ceramics and pottery. Visit of a ceramics factory and free time for shopping. Stop at the farmhouse Casale delle Rose where you'll watch a cheese- making demonstration followed by wine tasting and lunch, where you will sample the typical dishes of the inland culinary tradition. Continue to Agrigento and visit the Valley of the Temples, including: Temple Juno, Concord, Heracles, Zeus, Castor & Pollux which represent the most beautiful examples Greek Civilization in Sicily. Dinner and overnight at Dioscuri Bay Palace or Hotel Della Valle.

Day 6. Agrigento-Marsala-Erice-Palermo. Olive Oil and Wine tasting in Marsala + Pastry tasting in Erice.
After breakfast, depart to Marsala, famous for the production of excellent Marsala wines. Visit of Cantine Pellegrino, a top Sicilian winery that produces award winning wines. Enjoy a wine cellar tour with Red and White wine tasting accompanied by a sampling of typical local products (olives, cheese, bread). Proceed to Baglio Fontana Salsa Farmhouse located within an ancient 18th century building; situated in the center of a vast plain of olive trees that stretch between the slopes of Mt Erice and the Stagnone lagoon, in the province of Trapani. Enjoy olive oil and wine tasting followed by lunch. Proceed to Erice, a medieval town full of myth, history and art which sits on top of Mt. Erice, overlooking the city of Trapani and the Egadi Islands. Visit the world famous Grammatico Pasticerria, where you will taste marzipan and almond cookies made from recipes that were created centuries ago. Arrival in Palermo, dinner and overnight at the Hilton Hotel Excelsior.

Day 7. Palermo-Monreale-San Cipirello-Piana degli Albanesi-Palermo. Wine tasting and Wine making tour in San Cipirello.
After breakfast, enjoy a visit of the Capital of Sicily, which includes: the Cathedral, the "Palatina" Chapel, and a panoramic tour of the town. Continue on to Monreale and admire the Cathedral with its splendid 12th century mosaics and the cloister of the Benedictines monastery with Moorish architec¬ ture. Depart to San Cipirello and stop at Calatrasi wine cellars, where a guide will show you the various stages of the wine making procedure. At the end of the tour you will be shown into the Emporio Calatrasi where you'll be able to taste a selection of Calatrasi wines accompanied by traditional bread from Piana degli Albanesi served with cheese. Lunch at the Osteria Calatrasi: a modern farmhouse where you will sample traditional Sicilian dishes. Afterno¬ on departure to Piana deqli Albanesi, known for their handcrafted products such as: golden embroidery, Albanian-costume puppets, icons, paintings on cloth and artistic pottery. Return to Palermo. Dinner and overniqht.

Day 8. Palermo.
After breakfast, transfer to Venice Airport for your return flight home.
