Embrace Sicily 8 Days - 7 Nights

Day 1. Catania-Taormina.
Upon arrival at Catania Airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Taormina. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Welcome dinner and an introduction by your tour escort. Overnight.

Day 2. Taormina-Mt. Etna-Taormina.
After breakfast, depart for a morning walking tour of Taormina's charming city center, which includes the Greek-Roman amphithea¬ tre, with its spectacular view of Giardini Naxos and Mt. Etna; the largest active volcano in Europe. Afternoon excursion to Mt. Etna: travel up to a height of 1800mts and visit the Sylvester Craters. Before returning to Taormina, you will have the opportunity for an optional "Godfather" tour (paid locally) featuring the authentic villages chosen by Francis Coppola for most of the scenes in the movies. This is a good way to explore the real untouched Sicilian countryside, local lifestyle and culture. Dinner on your own. Overnight.

Day 3. Taormina-Siracusa-Taormina.
After breakfast, depart for a guided tour of Siracusa, which includes a visit of: the Archaeological Park, Greek Theatre, Latomia del Paradiso and Cave of Dyonisius' Ear. This evening enjoy a special Sicilian dinner with wine in a local restaurant. Overnight.

Day 4. Taormina-Agrigento-Palermo.
After breakfast, departure for Agrigento: a hillside town famous for its magnificent Valley of the Temples. Enjoy a guided tour of the Valley, dating back to the 5th century B.C. Your local guide will highlight the history and architecture of the Concordia and the other temples that are part of this archaeological treasure trove. After visiting the Valley of the Temples, resume travel to Palermo. Upon arrival enjoy a relaxing dinner at your hotel. Overnight.

Day 5. Palermo-Segesta-Marsala-Trapani-Palermo.
After breakfast, you will journey to Segesta, a large archaeological zone, with a magnificent Doric Temple. Continue to the sea town of Marsala, re-discovered in the 18th century by English merchant John Woodhouse and known for its sweet wines. Visit a wine cellar and sample some Marsala during a special wine tasting session. Drive along Trapani's coastline and stop for a special Sicilian lunch in a local restaurant. Return to Palermo. Dinner on your own. Overnight.

Day 6. Palermo-Monreale-Palermo.
After breakfast, enjoy a morning tour of Palermo featuring: I Quattro Canti, the Palace of the Normans and its superb Palatine Chapel, and the Cathedral. Continue to Monreale and discover the famous Benedictine Abbey, where you will admire a 12th century cathedral, housing very fine mosaics representing a complete cycle of the Old and New Testaments. Rest of the day is at leisure to relax or take an optional tour (paid locally) to the picturesque fishing village of Cefalu. Special dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight.

Day 7. Palermo-Corleone-Ficuzza-Palermo.
After breakfast, depart to the area of Corleone. Time at leisure or participate in a cooking lesson: where you will be able to prepare some of the most genuine and traditional Sicilian dishes (optional). After the cooking lesson, enjoy the special lunch you have prepared. After lunch, one of the inhabitants of Corleone, born in the UK, will present a fascinating discussion on the topic of the Sicilian Mafia. Return to Palermo, where you will enjoy farewell dinner at your hotel. Overnight.

Day 8. Palermo.
After breakfast, transfer to Venice Airport for your return flight home.
