India Gate was built as a memorial to commemorate the 70,000 India soldiers killed in World War I. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and completed in 1931. Jama Masjid was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan who also built the Taj Mahal of Agra and the Red fort in Delhi. Raj Ghat is the place where the mortal remains of Mahatma Gandhi were cremated.
