Dances of Kerala Gujarat, 'The jewel of the West', is a maritime state with the longest coastline(1290 km) in the country. It gets its name from a tribe known as 'Gujjars', which settled in the area in the 1st century A.D.

Gujarat is the highest producer of cotton, groundnut, salt, milk and petrochemical in India. It ranks second in the production of tobacco, third in pharmaceuticals and has important electronic and textile industries.
