Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi.
Arrive in Tbilisi airport. Transfer to Hotel.

Day 2: Tbilisi.
Tbilisi, capital of Georgia from the 5th century AD, has a long and fascinating history. Founded in the 4th century by King Vakhtang Gorgasali on the site of its warm mineral-water springs – it developed into the main city of the Caucasus. By the 12th century Tbilisi was one of the most important political, economic and cultural centres of the Middle East. It stood as a key stop on the famous Silk Road - right on the border between Europe and Asia. Tbilisi’s Old Town, the most ancient part of the city, is renowned for its wonderful mix of cultures. The mosque, the synagogue, the Armenian and Roman Catholic churches mingle harmoniously with the splendid Georgian churches and architecture. The wooden houses with open, carved balconies seem to welcome every visitor. The balmy sulfur baths have hosted poets, writers, musicians, kings down through the centuries.
Full-day city tour of Tbilisi with visits to the Old Town, Metekhi Temple, 12th c. “Abanotubani” – the baths area, Narikala, - The main fortress of Tbilisi. Walking through narrow streets, along which some carpet and souvenir shops are situated. We will continue excursion in the old town. We visit the Sioni Cathedral 11th c. Anchiskhati Church 6th c. Visit the National Museum. Visit Freedom Square and Rustaveli Avenue, the main street of Tbilisi. We explore other sites of the city including David Agmashenebeli Avenue or the Funicular. Hotel. Day 3: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Gori – Uplistsikhe – Kutaisi.
We start our trip by driving to Mtskheta. Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia is situated 20km from Tbilisi. Historians date the town back to the 2nd millennium B.C. Mtskheta was the capital of Georgian Kingdom of Iberia during 500BC - 500AD. Here Georgians accepted Christianity in the beginning of the 4th century. The town and its architectural monuments are listed as the World's Cultural Heritage sites by UNESCO. Visit Jvari Monastery (6th c.) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th c.). Continue driving to Gori, a historical town. Today the town is mainly known for its huge Fortress and as a birthplace of J. Stalin. Drive to Uplistsikhe cave town dated back to the 7th c. BC. It contains a large central hall for pagan rituals, living rooms as well as a church of the 9th century. From Uplistsikhe drive to Kutaisi. Overnight in Kutaisi at family-run guesthouse/ hotel. (B. Day 4: Kutaisi – Gelati – Sataplia – Batumi.
Kutaisi, dated back to the Argonauts times (13th -12th cc. B.C), was the capital of old Colchida and later of Western Georgia. Visit Bagrati cathedral (11th c,) and Gelati monastery, it was founded in the 12th century by the most famous Georgian King David the Builder (1073 – 1125). Here he founded the academy and monastery, which became the foremost centre of education in Georgia. The unique murals of saints and Georgian monarchs are inside the main Virgin Cathedral. These sites are listed as the World's Cultural Heritage sites by UNESCO. Today we visit Sataplia National Reserve known for footprints of dinosaurs. Visit also the caves with stalactites. Trip to the Black Sea coast to Batumi. Arrive in Batumi. Hotel. (B).

Day 5: Batumi - Bakuriani.
Set in the southwestern corner of Georgia, against the eastern coast of the Black Sea, Ajara spans a wide variety of landscape, from high forested mountains to lush sub-tropical hills – all set beside the balmy Black Sea coast. Batumi, the capital of Ajara region a major sea port and offers beautiful Botanical Gardens, and a nice boulevard beside the Black Sea. The city has been changed dramatically and now it has a number of international class hotels and hosts many cultural events. Morning city tour of Batumi to visit its major sites: Old town, Batumi Piazza, Theatrical and Neptun Squares, etc.. Walk in Batumi Boulevard. In the afternoon we Drive to Bakuriani ski resort, surrounded by the Lesser Caucasus Mountain in the southern part of Georgia. Overnight in Bakuriani. Hotel. (B. D).

Day 6: Bakuriani – Vardzia – Bakuriani.
Drive along river Kura Valley to the cave town Vardzia (12th c). On the way stop at Khertvisi fortress, built in the Middle Ages. Vardzia, the unique example of Georgian Renaissance is the place associated with Queen Tamara and Shota Rustaveli, the author of the legendary poem "The Knight in the Panther’s Skin". Overnight in Bakuriani. Hotel. (B. D).

Day 7: Bakuriani – Borjomi - Ananuri – Gudauri.
We visit Borjomi Park and taste natural Borjomi mineral water We continue driving along the Georgian Military Highway, the historical road leading north into the Caucasus Mountains. It passes the spectacular Ananuri fortress (16th – 17th cc), where we have excursion. Then we drive along the sides of the dramatic Aragvi River Valley up to Gudauri resort (2000m). Hotel. (B. D.).

Day 8: Gudauri - Kazbegi – Tbilisi.
Surrounded by gigantic mountains Kazbegi is a picturesque settlement overlooked by the biggest of all - Mount Kazbek (5047m) - one of the six 5000 metre peaks of the Caucasus. According to the legend, Prometheus was chained on the mount Kazbek. Walk up to the Sameba Church beautifully situated on the hill and providing splendid views of Mt. Kazbek. We explore the area and time permitting we have a detour to the Dariali Canyon. Arrive Tbilisi. Hotel. (B.).

Day 9: Tbilisi – Kakheti Province – Tbilisi.
Kakheti, Georgia’s famous wine district, lies due east from Tbilisi in a land dotted with fine old churches and vineyard after vineyard. First we visit Signaghi, a beautiful hill-town providing panoramic views of Alazani Valley and the Eastern Caucasus Mountains. Then we visit Tsinandali Park. Sightseeing of Telavi. Visit Gremi architectural complex of the 16th c,. Finally we visit Alaverdi Cathedral (11th c). Optional: We offer visit to one of the wineries in or around Telavi to taste some of the best sorts of Georgian wines. Return Tbilisi. Hotel. (B).

Day 10: Departure.
Transfer to the airport. End of the tour.
