Igloo Village Break

Day 1: Welcome to the Igloo Village

On arrival to Ivalo Airport, you are greeted and transferred to the Igloo Village, located in the Saariselkä fell area amidst scenery in the vicinity of Urho Kekkonen National Park. This evening, enjoy a nice dinner at the onsite restaurant and then spend some time relaxing in the sauna. Tonight you will sleep in your own glass igloo, which offers a unique opportunity to admire the stars and maybe even some spectacular northern lights in warmth and comfort. *

* Please note that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Day 2: Huskies, Auroras & Reindeer

Early in the day, you will be picked up from the Igloo Village for a classic Arctic experience—dog-sledding! With the guidance of a skilled musher, you will learn how to drive your own sled with a team of four huskies through the breathtaking Lapland wilderness. (Two passengers per sled taking turns driving.) The dogs howl and pull at their harnesses to get moving, and as soon as the anchor is lifted, they fall silent and eagerly start pulling the sled through the woods and over the plains. During a break around the fire, you will be served coffee and a light lunch.

In the evening, you will be taken on your second winter adventure—a reindeer safari in the search for the northern lights. Enjoy the relaxing ride as the sleigh glides peacefully through the snowy forest, pulled by your very own reindeer. This activity is also a wonderful opportunity to learn about the way of life and traditions of the native Sami people.

After another delicious dinner back at the Igloo Village, you will spend the night in a cosy and well-furnished log cabin.
