7 Day Selinda Spillway and Okavango Delta Safari

This adventure begins and ends in Maun, Botswana.

DAY 1 – 3: Selinda Spillway
On arrival at Maun Airport you will be met and assisted onto your scheduled charter flight to the Selinda Airstrip.

The Selinda Reserve is an untouched private wildlife sanctuary in northern Botswana. The famous Selinda Spillway, which links the Okavango Delta in the west to the Linyanti and Kwando wetlands and rivers in the east, meanders through the area. This exceptional river can flow in both directions, depending on where water levels are highest. Abundant wildlife is attracted to the vast floodplains and grasslands along the river, with large numbers of elephant and vast herds of buffalo congregating around the Zibadianja Lagoon in the dry winters. Predator viewing is also exceptional, including lion, leopard wild dog and cheetah.

Spend two nights in a luxury thatched tent at Selinda Camp. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, laundry and daily lodge adventures. Adventures include twice-daily game drives in an open 4 x 4 vehicles, as well as nature walks.

DAY 4 – 6: Okavango Delta
After breakfast you will board another flight, which will take you into the heart of the Okavango Delta.

A maze of sparkling lagoons, meandering channels and overgrown islands teeming with wildlife, the Okavango Delta lies like a sparkling jewel at the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Crystal clear channels spread over the thirstlands of the Kalahari with their papyrus-fringed banks and fertile floating islands. Adapted for a life in and out of the water, the elegant red lechwe and shy sitatunga are found in this watery wilderness. Lion, leopard, cheetah and African wild dog, share the floodplains with large herds of elephant and buffalo. Hippo inhabit the deeper channels and lagoons, while iridescent dragonflies, frogs of every colour and jewel-like kingfishers live in the papyrus-lined banks.

Spend the next four nights in your choice of:

A cool cottage beneath a wooded canopy at &Beyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge

A raised safari tent overlooking the floodplains at &Beyond Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp
